I started when I read about a contest in Elle Magazine in 2006 where the 15 Contest Winners would become the “Readers’ Prize Panel” and review 3 Top Best Seller each month for the print magazine. We were asked to list our 5 favorite books and write a review of our favorite. So, I wrote a review for Jane Austen’s “Pride & Prejudice”. About a month later I found out I was one of the winners and I began receiving ARC’s or manuscripts to review. Right after that I started a blog, but nothing stuck until The Write Review which officially began in 2010. Then in March, 2019, “The Write Reviewer’s Book Club” was opened on Facebook with Serena Soape as my co-pilot.
This Community has survived so many breaks, closes and all around confusion due to my health. I am so grateful to the community we have all built together.
One thing is for sure! I do not want to stop running this until I have nothing to give. I may have to change the landscape, but the heart of The Write Review is the love of literacy.
